ShareX Image Editor

Every screenshot you take in ShareX can be opened in the built-in image editor before saving or sharing. The editor provides annotation, drawing, and editing tools without needing external software like Photoshop or GIMP.

Drawing and Shape Tools

The image editor includes a comprehensive set of tools for marking up screenshots:

• Arrow — Point to specific areas with customizable arrowheads and line thickness
• Rectangle / Ellipse — Draw outlined shapes to highlight regions of interest
• Filled Rectangle / Ellipse — Draw solid shapes for stronger emphasis
• Freehand Drawing — Draw or write on screenshots with mouse, stylus, or touch
• Line — Draw straight lines between any two points
• Step Numbers — Add numbered steps (1, 2, 3...) for tutorial-style screenshots
• Speech Bubbles — Add comic-style speech bubbles for commentary

Text and Annotation

• Text tool — Add captions, notes, or labels with customizable fonts, sizes, and colors
• Outline text — Text with a contrasting outline for readability on any background
• Background text — Text on a colored background rectangle for emphasis

Image Adjustments and Effects

The editor provides several ways to modify and enhance your screenshots:

Cutout Feature

A standout feature in ShareX is the cutout tool:

• Remove a selected area and shift remaining content to close the gap
