Multilingual Support

ShareX is designed from the ground up to be accessible to users around the world. With built-in support for multiple languages, users can interact with ShareX in their native tongue, making the tool more intuitive and reducing the learning curve.

Supported Languages

ShareX includes full or partial translations for a wide range of languages:

How Language Switching Works

1. Go to Application Settings → Language
2. Select your preferred language from the dropdown
3. ShareX applies the change immediately — no restart required
4. The interface, menus, dialogs, and editor all switch to the selected language

Translation Quality

ShareX translations are community-driven, meaning:

• Translations are contributed by native speakers who use the tool daily
• Updates happen continuously as the application evolves
• Users can contribute or improve translations through the project's localization platform
• Context-aware translations ensure technical terms are accurately represented

Right-to-Left (RTL) Support

ShareX properly handles right-to-left languages such as Arabic and Hebrew:

• UI layout mirrors for RTL text direction
• Text alignment adjusts automatically
• Editor tools work seamlessly in RTL mode

Unicode and Character Support

ShareX fully supports Unicode, which means:

• File names can include characters from any language
• OCR works with non-Latin scripts (Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Cyrillic)
• Text annotations accept any Unicode character
• Watermarks and labels display correctly in all scripts

Language-Specific Features

Some features adapt to the selected language:

• OCR language detection — Default OCR language matches the UI language
• Spell checking — The image editor respects language-specific dictionaries
• Date and time formatting — Displays adapt to regional conventions
• Number formatting — Decimal and thousands separators follow regional norms

ShareX welcomes community contributions to translations:

• Join the translation project on the official platform
• Suggest improvements for existing translations
