Image Splitter - Free ShareX Tool

Image Splitter in ShareX — grid, crop, assets. How this built-in tool works and how to configure it in the free, open-source Windows app.

ShareX Image Splitter

The image splitter divides an image into multiple smaller images based on a grid layout. This is useful for creating sprite sheets, processing large images, or breaking down content into manageable pieces.

How to Use

  1. Open an image with Tools → Image Splitter
  2. Set the number of rows and columns
  3. Preview the grid overlay on your image
  4. Click Split to generate the individual image pieces
  5. Each piece is saved as a separate file

Configuration Options

  • Rows — Number of horizontal divisions
  • Columns — Number of vertical divisions
  • Output directory — Where split images are saved
  • Naming pattern — Customize output file names

Use Cases

  • Sprite sheet generation — Split a combined sprite image into individual frames
  • Large image processing — Break large images into smaller pieces for easier handling
  • Grid-based design — Extract tiles from a pattern or texture
  • Photo grid creation — Split a collage back into its component images
