ShareX Video Converter

ShareX includes a video converter powered by FFmpeg, allowing you to convert media files between various formats without installing separate software.

How to Use

1. Go to Tools → Video Converter
2. Drag and drop or browse for video files
3. Select the output format from the dropdown
4. Configure quality and encoding options if needed
5. Click Convert to start the process

Advanced Options

• Video codec selection — H.264, VP8, VP9, etc.
• Audio codec — AAC, Opus, MP3, etc.
• Quality setting — CRF value for quality/size balance
• Output resolution — Resize during conversion
• Bitrate control — Manual bitrate for precise output

Requirements

Video conversion requires FFmpeg. ShareX will detect FFmpeg automatically if it's:

• Included in your ShareX installation
• Available in your system PATH
• Manually configured in ShareX settings under Application Settings → Paths

Tips

• For web use, WebM (VP9) offers the best quality-to-size ratio
• Converting GIF to MP4 can reduce file size by 90% or more
• Use CRF 23 for a good balance of quality and file size for H.264
