ShareX Hash Checker
The hash checker tool computes cryptographic checksums for any file, helping you verify file integrity and detect corruption or tampering.
Supported Algorithms
- SHA-256 — Industry standard, recommended for most uses
- SHA-512 — Higher security hash
- MD5 — Fast checksum, widely used for download verification
- SHA-1 — Legacy algorithm, still common in many tools
- CRC-32 — Quick integrity check
How to Use
- Go to Tools → Hash Checker
- Select or drag-and-drop a file into the tool
- ShareX computes all hash values simultaneously
- Compare the generated hash with the expected value
- Copy any hash to clipboard for sharing
Common Use Cases
- Verifying software downloads — Compare the computed hash with the one published by the developer
- File integrity checking — Ensure files haven't been corrupted during transfer
- Duplicate detection — Files with identical SHA-256 are guaranteed duplicates
